We install timber paling fences across Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula. Palings are treated pine or hardwood, set on rails fixed to hardwood posts, in standard heights of 1.5m, 1.65m and 1.8m. Posts go in at about 2.4m centres in poured concrete footings. You pick the style — standard paling, lapped and capped, feature panel or picket — and we do the lot: site prep, footings and install.

We supply and install timber fence palings in treated pine and hardwood. Treated pine is pressure-treated to hold off rot and insect damage, and it's what most home fences are built from. Hardwood palings cost more, but you get denser timber, a different look and a longer life out of them.
Standard heights are 1.5m, 1.65m and 1.8m, and we'll build to a custom height if you need one. All our palings come from the same few suppliers we've stuck with, so we know what we're getting.
What goes into every timber fence we build.
We use hardwood fence posts on every job. Hardwood holds up against rot, termites and moisture better than treated pine, and that counts for a lot in the damp coastal air around the Bellarine.
All the metal fittings are hot-dipped galvanised, so they don't rust out before the timber does.
Rails are screwed to the hardwood posts with Bugle Batten screws, not nailed. Screws hold the fence tight where nails work loose and let it sag.
Every post is set in poured concrete, not dry mix. It makes a firmer footing that won't shift or settle on you.
You can upgrade to galvanised steel posts on any paling fence. They won't rot, twist or shift under coastal wind and weather the way timber posts can. You pay only for the added materials, confirmed in your free quote — no upgrade fee, no labour loading.
Every rail and plinth is screwed to the posts with large-gauge galvanised (Class 3) bugle batten screws, driven up tight. The only place we use nails is fixing the palings to the rails — everywhere it matters, it's screwed.
